Dani and Matt were married on a cool Autumn day in April. After a quick last minute decision (they were to me married in the garden's at Southbank) they chose Rydges Hotel as an alternate venue to escape the torrential rain and gusty wind. It was to be a surprise wedding and they both created an elaborate story to keep their guests guessing until Dani was walking down the aisle. Here are some questions I asked her after their big day:
Where did you get married and why did you choose that venue?
We got married at South Bank. We wanted somewhere with beautiful gardens on the water and a great view.
What was your favourite part of the day? My favourite part of our day was the surprise! But also saying our vows. I could not get the smile off my face! Every part is magical! The people, getting ready, the ceremony, reception... everything!!!
What was your least favourite part/regrets of the day?
Not having all of our closest friends there.
what advice do you have for couples planning their wedding?
You only get to do it once, go with your instincts and do it the way that you want rather than everyone else otherwise you will not get the day you are after. Enjoy the day and try to relax and take in as much as you can.
Any other tips/suggestions for brides that you wish you knew while you were engaged?
Research and communication is paramount. Take the time to look at everything. There are the right fit for every style and budget. You can have both.
